Tutto nasce nel 1968, quando l'artista sansperatino Pinuccio Sciola immagina di trasformare il paese in un grande laboratorio creativo. Da allora artisti locali, italiani e internazionali hanno dipinto i muri delle case: oggi si contano quasi 500 murales e oltre cento tra sculture e installazioni.It all began in 1968, when local artist Pinuccio Sciola imagined turning the village into a great creative workshop. Since then local, Italian and international artists have painted the walls of the houses: today there are almost 500 murals and over a hundred sculptures and installations.

Nel cuore del paese, il Museo del Crudo occupa un edificio del Seicento costruito interamente in “ladiri”, i mattoni crudi di terra e paglia della tradizione campidanese. Ospita mostre ed eventi culturali e custodisce la memoria dell'architettura rurale sarda.In the heart of the village, the Museo del Crudo occupies a 17th‑century building made entirely of “ladiri”, the raw earth‑and‑straw bricks of the Campidano tradition. It hosts exhibitions and cultural events and preserves the memory of Sardinian rural architecture.
